The Comparative Discussion on the Feelings of Sorrow in the Novels of Shen Congwen and Chi Zijian

Shen Congwen is a modern writer and Chi Zijian is a contemporary writer in China.There are many similarities in thoughts of their works,especially in the feeling of sorrow.The origins of the feelings of sor- row are mainly the two:one is that in the conflict of the city culture and countryside culture,Shen Congwen and Chi Zijian hold on the latter one,but that is beyond their ability to save the countryside culture;the other one is that on the choice between the edge literature and the main stream literature,they hold on the civilian stand- point,but there are so much misery filled in the life and the destination of the countryside people.
