【Objective】To explore apoptosis and cell cycle distribution of human choriocarcinoma cell line JEG-3 treated by paclitaxel. 【Methods】The effect of paclitaxel on the proliferation of human choriocarcinoma cell line JEG-3 was evaluated by MTT growth assay. The rate of apoptosis and the cell cycle distribution were analyzed by flow cytometry. 【Results】Paclitaxel could inhibit the proliferation of cell line JEG-3. The inhibition effects were concentration and time dependent. Paclitaxel could affect the apoptosis of cells and the cell cycle distribution. The rate of apoptosis and the percentage of G2/M cells increased as the concentration of paclitaxel increased and the action time was prolonged.【Conclusion】Paclitaxel can induce apoptosis of human choriocarcinoma cell line JEG-3.
