Abstract
Objective To observe the convalescence and factors influencing on the renal function in children with congenital hydronephrosis after operation. Methods The postoperative renal function of 50 cases and preoperative and postoperative renal function of 20 patients were determined by ECT. Factors that influenced on the convalescence were analyzed. Results The average postoperative renal function of 50 cases was 40.62 ± 10.09 %. The renal function of some patients (32% ) was near normal. The differentiated renal function reached up to 45%. The average preoperative and postoperative renal function of 20 cases was 20.45 ± 9.50 % and 37.10 ± 9.16 % respectively. The parenchyma thickness was negatively correlated with postoperative renal function ( r= 0.79 ,P = 0.004 ) . The follow-up period was positively correlated with postoperative renal function ( r= -0.57 , P = 0.12 ). The recovery of renal function in hydronephrosis with extrarenal pelvis was obvious than that with intrarenal pelvis ( P = 0.044 ).Conclusions The postoperative renal function in children with hydronephrosis can recover to normal. The recovery is obvious in cases with thinner renal parenchyma, longer follow-up and extrarenal pelvis.
