Abstract

The main bridge of Nanjing Dashengguan Changjiang River Bridge on Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway is a steel truss arch bridge composed of two units of(84+84) m continuous steel truss girders and six spans of(108+192+336+336+192+108) m continuous steel truss arches. The steel girders of the main spans of the long span continuous steel truss arch bridge were erected by the aid of the three-level tower bents, fixity of the girders with pier-side brackets and the three-level horizontal cables. The closure at the midspans of the steel girders was realized by the new technique mainly by means of adjusting the stay and horizontal cables and longitudinally moving the girders in advance without jacking up and down the girders.
