Investigation on drinking water safety in China in 2011

Objective:To investigate the health management condition and water quality of centralized water supply units,secondary water supply facilities and School-owned water supply facilities in China.Methods:Data identification,on-site investigation,sampling test were conducted on water samples from municipal water supply facilities,self-built water factories,secondary water supply facilities and school-owned water supply facilities in 2011.Results:The health management of self-built centralized water supply units,secondary water supply units and School-owned water supply facilities remain to be standardized;Water test results indicated that treated water,tap water and water from secondary water supply were commendable with eligible rates more than 85%,the pass rate of water samples from school-owned water supply was 70%.Conclusion:Great importance should be attached to China′s drinking water safety.Self-test capability of water quality laboratory in municipal water supply units,health management of self-built centralized water supply factroies and school-owned water supply facilities still need to strengthen.Water quality monitoring should focus on water safety of school-owned water supply facilities.
