Abstract
Using near-isogenic lines and their parents as materials, the effects of erect panicle gene on source, sink, transportation and its related traits were studied. The results indicated that the yield of varieties with erect panicle gene were significantly higher than that of varieties without erect panicle gene.Compared with that of varieties without erect panicle gene, the varieties with erect panicle gene had bigger sink, higher dry matter productivity and fluent transportation system,as well as higher translocation and exportation rate of its stem and sheath.Besides of erecting panicle, erect gene had the functions that had the panicle shorten and the leaves erect, thereby the rice population environment was improved and the yield was higher.
