Comparison of curative effects of intra-articular calcaneal fracture internal fixation with or without bone graft

Objective To explore the clinical effects of open reduction internal fixation with or without bone graft in the treatment of patients with intra-articular calcaneal fracture. Methods 45 patients receiving open reduction steel plate internal fixation without bone graft (none bone graft group)or open reduction steel plate internal fixation with bone graft(bone graft group)from September 2006 to September 2010 were analyzed retrospectively. The postoperative Maryland scores of the two groups were compared. The postoperative appearance recovery of calcaneus were observed and evaluated. Results Maryland score,two groups of comparisons difference was not statistically significant (P0.05). Compared with bone X ray measurement,the calcaneal height and Bolher angle were significantly different between two groups (P 0.05); the calcaneal width and Gissane angle had no significant different (P 0.05). Conclusion Bone grafting in the treatment of patients with intra-articular calcaneal fracture has obvious effect ,especially to shape recovery .
