Abstract

In order to analyze the genetic diversity and genetic structure, the polymorphisms of 7 microsatellite loci from 7 chromosomes were applied to evaluate the level of genetic diversity for indigenous chicken breed strain. The results showed that 23 alleles were identified in 24 individuals and the number of alleles varied from 2 to 5.And the average number of alleles was 3.3 per locus. The average heterozygosity and polymorphic information content of 7 microsatellite loci were 0.7176 and 0.6603 respectively. The results indicated that the Wugudagu Chicken breed has higher level of genetic diversity.
