Analysis of epidemic situation of communicable diseases of class A and B in Foshan City in Guangdong Province, 2005-2012

Abstract
Objective To understand epidemic trend and prevalent pattern of communicable diseases of class A and B in Foshan City, to provide scientific evidence for developing prevention and control measures of communicable diseases.Methods The incidence data of communicable diseases of class A and B in Foshan from 2005 to 2012 was collected and analyzed. Results A total of 155 294 cases with 21 communicable diseases of class A and B were reported during this period,with average annual incidence of 314.05/100 000. Totally 176 death cases were reported, with the average annual death rate of 0.36/100 000. The first 5 rank of the diseases were pulmonary tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea, viral hepatitis B and viral hepatitis C. Conclusions Incidences of communicable diseases of class A and B decrease in Foshan year by year during 2005-2012. Blood borne and sexual transmitted diseases rank the first. Pulmonary tuberculosis,syphilis, gonorrhea,AIDS, measles and dengue fever are the main communicable diseases for control for following years.
