Abstract
A simulation program was developed to predict the plateau performance of turbocharged diesel engines. This program contains the following modules: simplified in-cylinder cycle calculation module, intake and exhaust process calculation modules, turbocharged system calculation module, etc. The program can be used to calculate power, torque, brake specific fuel consumption, peak cylinder pressure, air mass flow, pressure ratio, expansion ratio, exhaust gas temperature before turbine and other parameters. The simulating calculations of three turbocharged diesel engines operating at altitude of 2 206,3 800 and 4 550 m were conducted by using this program, and the filed tests were performed at three same altitudes with a mobile measuring system. The simulated results were found to be in reasonable agreement with the test results.
