Abstract
Propose To investigate the relationship between the expression of p16INK4A in cervical squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and HPV16/18 infection. Methods In situhybridization (ISH) were used to detect the expression of HPV16/18 in 25 cases of SCC, 45 cases of CIN and 10 cases of chronic cervicitis. And the expression of p16INK4A were detected by the immunohistochemical EliVision method. Results (1) The positive rate of HPV hybrid signals in CIN Ⅱ, CIN Ⅲ and SCC were all significantly higher than in chronic cervicitis ( P0.01). (2) Positive expression rates of p16INK4A protein in cervical squamous carcinoma,CIN Ⅰ, CIN Ⅱ,CIN Ⅲ and chronic cervicitis were 100.0%,20.0%,46.7%,100.0% and 10.0%. (3)p16INK4A protein positive was found in which HPV16/18 infection of cervical squamous carcinoma and CIN. Conclusions There showed positive correlation between very high expression of p16INK4A protein and HPV infection in CIN and SCC.p16INK4A protein can be an indicator in SCC and CIN, Which has very significance in preventing the HPV infection and can work efficiently in SCC.
