Abstract

Objective To study the localization and the week\|aged change of dehydroepiandrosterone(DHEA) in human placenta. Methods Immunohistochemistry and quantitation were used in the experiment. Results The syncytiotrophoblast, cytotrophoblast and stromal cells were all appeared DHEA immunoreactivity. The immunoreactive material was distributed in cytoplasm with immunonegative nucleus. The relative amounts of DHEA rose with increasing week ages of gestation. Conclusions DHEA might implicate in the development of the placenta and fetus.
