Abstract
A approximate method for generation of spiral-bevel and hypoid pinion tooth surfaces by application of CNC machines is given, and the equation of meshing between the tool surface and the generated surface, and the equation of the generated surface are derived in the text. The character of all points on the mean line are controlled by application of the method. The method combines merits of the local conjugation and the global conjugation better. The generated gear tooth surface acts in accord with principles of the gear tooth surface correction, and are in approximation to the global conjuation gear tooth surface.
