Abstract

Objective: To observe the effect of levaml odipine besylate taken at different times on blood pressure in hypertensive patients with abnormal circadian rhythm. Methods: Fifty-nine hypertensive patients, whose ambulatory blood pressure was monitored, were divided into the dipper group(n=21) and the non-dipper group(n=38).The group of 38 patients with non-dipper hypertensive patients were also divided into Levamlodipine morning medication group(n=21) and evening medication group(n=17),with the dose of 2.5mg/d.Ambulatory blood pressure was monitored again after 8 weeks treatment. Results: The mean daytime systolic blood pressure of morning medication(dSBP),daytime diastolic blood pressure(dDBP),nighttime systolic blood pressure(nSBP),nighttime diastolic blood pressure(nDBP) levels were(143.11±5.17)mmHg,(75.16±7.11)mmHg,(126.12±5.18)mmHg,(71.16±5.16)mmHg before the treatment, but decreased after treatment(129.10±6.16)mmHg,(73.16±7.10)mmHg,(121.11±9.12) mmHg,(63.13±3.17) mmHg respectively.Blood pressure levels before and after treatment were statistically significantly different. Conclusion: Levamlodipine taken at night is good in correcting night high blood pressure so that non-dipper blood pressure can be turned into dipper blood pressure for better protection of target organs.
