Abstract

Objective To retrospectively review traumatic tympanic membrane perforation, analyze the early pure tone audiometry test results and clinical outcomes and provide guidance for clinical treatment. Methods Retrospectively analyzed diagnosis and treatment from May 2001 to May 2010,with complete clinical data of 118 cases of traumatic tympanic membrane perforation. Results The indirect injury of traumatic tympanic membrane perforation were more than direct damage, early pure tone audiometry hearing damage was mainly mild to moderate conductive hearing loss, treatment results of tympanic membrane perforation were mostly healed, but the healed hearing with normal level was less. Conclusions All kinds of trauma caused by perforation of tympanic membrane,as well as with damage to the middle ear, inner ear.Analysis of early degree of hearing loss, type and injured ear pure tone audiometry test results can guide clinical treatment.
