Abstract
The constituents derived from Imperata cylindrical Rhizomes include triterpenes, flavonoids, lignans, lactones, saccharides, steroids and organic acids. Many biological activities, such as hemostasis, antisepticise and immunoloregulation, had been observed by the previous pharmacology study on Imperata cylindrical Rhizomes. However, the effective constituents responsible for these activities and their mechanism of action remain unclear. In this paper, phytochemical and pharmacological researches concerning Imperata cylindrical Rhizomes, which could provide the evidence for further exploitation, utilization and quality control of the Materia Medica, extracts, products of Imperata cylindrical Rhizomes.
