Abstract

Smear layer can prevent medication from deep disinfection, and reduces adaptation of filled composite and root canal wall, thus root tip microleakag significantly increased, which leads to the failure of root canal treatment.Root canal irrigation is a key link of root canal therapy, and the removal of smear layer is one of the important. This review discusses the progresses of root canal smear layer removal, and is aiming to provides references for clinicians.
