Abstract

Objective:To determine the effect of α-interferon in the treatment of renal cell carcinoma after nephrectomy. Methods:A total of 82 cases of renal cell carcinoma were reviewed and divided into two groups:the therapeutic group treated by α-interferon after nephrectomy and the control group with nephrectomy alone. Results:The 5-year survival rate among the two groups in stageⅠ~Ⅱrenal carcinoma was similar, but there was significant difference in 5-year survival rate among two groups in advanced renal carcinoma.Conclusions:α-interferon was effective for advanced renal carcinoma.
