Abstract
Objective This study was designed to find out the epidemiological characteristics of measles and to explore the controlling measures of measles. Methods Statistical analysis was performed on the data obtained from the program of measles surveillance in 2006.Results In 2006,measles was found to occur in sporadic form. The reported incidence of measles was 2.63/100,000.The disease occurred throughout the year and peaked at May to July(75 cases,50.68%).Children aged 0-6 were the predominant group with measles infection(126 cases),accounting for 85.14% of total cases.78.38% of the infected children were scattered children.65.16% of the infected individuals were positive for the anti-measles IgM antibody. Conclusion Scattered children were at high risk of having measles.Program for routine measles immunization should be strengthen. For the disease prevention,it is important to maintain both a high coverage rate and immunization level in the population.
