Abstract

【Objective】To investigate the relationship between plasma homocysteine(Hcy),lipoprotein(a) ,C-reactive protein(CRP),fibrinogen(FIB) and cerebral artery stenosis.【Methods】A total of 70 patients with cerebral artery stenosis experienced magnetic resonance angiography(MRA) and 50 controls were enrolled.Plasma Hcy,LP(a),CRP and FIB levels were analyzed and conventional risk factors of cerebral stroke such as sex, age, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and long-time smoking were evaluated in all subjects.【Results】Plasma concentrations of Hcy,LP(a),CRP and FIB were significantly higher in patients with cerebral artery stenosis than in contro1s.The more severe the artery stenosis was,the higher the Hcy,LP(a),CRP and FIB concentrations in blood.Based on logistic regression model,Hcy,LP(a) and FIB were closely correlated to cerebral artery stenosis.【Conclusion】High level of plasma Hcy,LP(a) and FIB are independent risk factors of cerebral artery stenosis.
