Observation on the inhibiting effect of tamoxifen on the proliferation of human tongue carcinoma cell line Tca8113

Objective:To investigate the inhibiting effect of tamoxifen on proliferation of human tongue carcinoma cell line Tca8113.Method:Human tongue carcinoma cell line Tca8113 was incubated with different concentrations of tamoxifen,cell proliferation was evaluated by MTT method.The morphological changes of cells in each group were observed with inverted microscope.Result:After the cells being treated with tamoxifen at different concentration(1,2,5,10 μmol/L)for 24 hours,the inhibition rate(%) were(3.42±0.38),(15.61±2.47),(44.54±0.58) and(61.48±0.69) respectively.Tamoxifen inhibited proliferation significantly(P 0.05)in dose-depended manner.The changes of cellular ultrastructure were relative with the concentration of tamoxifen.Conclusion:Tamoxifen can significantly inhibit human tongue carcinoma cell line Tca8113's proliferation in dose-depended manner.
