The Relationship between MMP 2, MMP 9 Expression and Clinic Pathological Features in Non - small -cell Lung Carcinoma

Objective To investigate the relationship between MMP 2,MMP 9 and clinic pathological features in non - small -cell lung carcinoma. Methods MMP 2,MMP 9 expressions were determined in surgically treated 83 cases of non - small cell lung carcinoma tissues and their adjacent tissues and 24 cases of normal lung tissues by streptavidinperoxdase immunohistochemical technique . Results The immunoreactivities of MMP 2, MMP 9 were mainly shown in cytoplasma of tumor cells. The overexpressions of MMP 2,MMP 9 in carcinoma tissues were significantly higher than in adjacent tissues(p 0.005). No overexpression was observed in normal tissues. By stastistical analysis, their overexpressions were not related to tumor types, clinical stages, pathological grades, sex, age,smoking history .The overexpression of MMP 2 in cancer tissues was related to clinical stages and lymph node metastasis status(p 0.05) . Conclusions MMP 2, MMP 9 both take part in the progress of non - small - cell lung carcinoma and maybe they promote the progress. The overexpression of MMP 2 in cancer tissues were related to clinical stages and lymph node metastasis status.
