Analysis of gastric emptying of 99TcmO4- labeled solid meal in children with chronic gastritis

AIM: To investigate the process of gastric emptying in children with chronic gastritis. METHODS: Twentyfive children with chronic gastritis were examined by SPECT, using 99TcmO4- labeled chicken liver as test meal. HZRESULTS: Half gastric emptying time of children with mild, moderate and severe chronic gastritis were 63.86 minutes, 95.68 minutes and 120 minutes respectively, 95% confidence interval of mild and moderate chronic gastritis group being 37.49￣90.22 minutes and 71.88￣119.49 minutes respectively. CONCLUSION: The results show that gastric emptying time of children with chronic gastritis is prolonged along with the severity of the condition and significant difference is found among mild, moderate and severe groups.
