Effect of Xipayi mouth rinse on gingival bleeding caused by gingivitis

Abstract

Objective To examine the effect of Xipayi mouth rinse on gingival bleeding caused by gingivitis.Methods A total of 125 patients with gingival bleeding caused by gingivitis were collected from June 2008 to March 2009.They were randomly divided into two groups.The Xipayi and 0.12% chlorhexidine mouth rinse were used in test group(n=64)and control group(n=61)respectively.The sulcus bleeding index(SBI)was measured before and after treatment.Results The effectiveness rates were 87.5% in test group and 75.4% in control group.There was no significant difference in the treatment results between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion The Xipayi mouth rinse is effective and feasible for the treatment of gingival bleeding.
