Internet service provider(ISP) is a general term used to refer to the entities that provide all kinds of internet services,which is too wide to be used in legal provisions.Although there are different kinds of internet service provider,it is sufficient to classify potential infringement entities in terms of online copyright infringement subjects.Therefore,internet service provider falls into two categories: internet hardware service provider and internet software service provider,with the former including internet access service provider and internet storage provider and the latter including internet content provider and internet technical support provider(software technology only).
