On Qu Yuan's Artistic Grandeur

Qu Yuan is a distinguished poet of romanticism in the history of Chinese literature, whose creations initiated the Chniese romantic literature and reflected the artistic grandeur. This article first points out the artistic grandeur imposed upon Qu Yuan's works, especially in his Li-sao and Tian-wen, then reveals the relationship between the poet's artistic grandeur and his lofty personality, and last declares that the works of artistic grandeur can only be created by the independent personalities and free spirits.
