Abstract
By investigating the present water pollution of the Kuihe River and determinning chemical oxygen demand(COD Cr ), biochemical oxygen demand(BOD 5), dissolved oxygen(DO), suspended solid(SS), pH, degree of turbidity, the status quo of water pollution on the Kuihe River is revealed: organic pollutant is playing an important part in water pollution and the water quality is worse than the fifth level. Factors affecting the water quality are analysed, including domestic sewage, industrial waste water, agricultural runoff and so on, and the strategies preventing pollution and utilizing water resources of the Kuihe River are presented.
