Abstract
Effects of different stocking rates on vegetation traits of cultivated pastures in southern China were studied.The results showed: the height of Dactylis glomerata L.had significant differences between the control and grazing areas,and the heights of Lolium perenne L.and Trifolium repens had no significant differences between the control and grazing areas.There were different effects of cover under different stocking rate,the cover of Dactylis glomerata L.and Lolium perenne L.were decreased under grazing,and there were little effects on Trifolium repens,total covers of the control was greater than that of grazing areas;there was about 90% underground biomass in 0-20cm soil layer of pasture,the biomass decreased with increasing grazing pressure index.The contents of crude protein and crude fat decreased under grazing,and the contents of acid detergent fibre and neutral detergent fiber increased under grazing.
