Abstract

Current tidal waves in the areas were modeled by using the spherical tidal wave equations with the tide-generating force taken into account, and with an open boundary condition taken as forced tidal elevation. The modeling covered 19 tidal constituent waves with the largest theoretical coefficients,including,10 semidiurnal and 9 diurnal constituents. This was the first attempt at modeling so many tidal constituent waves. The modeled results were compared with observed data.Co-tidal charts were drawn based on the modeled harmonics, and the movements of the tidal waves were discussed and analyzed.
