Abstract
The main characteristics of the structure and original contour parameters of the rack and pinion steering gear have been analyzed.The mesh equation and the calculation formula of contact ratio have been obtained by the mesh theory of rack and pinion.The parameters of rack and pinion drive have been optimized.The loading capacity has been increased obviously and the service life has been improved through concrete example.
