An Empirical Analysis on Farmers' Desire of Agricultural Insurance in Fujian

Abstract

This paper is a study and empirical analysis on the factors that affect Fujian farmers' decision-making in agricultural insurance,then reveal the degree of effect.This paper uses SPSS 13.0 statistical software to make Logistic regression into the survey data of 481 questionnaires of farmers arranging agricultural insurance in Fujian.The results show that three variables including cultural level,cultivation benefit,the influence comes from peripheral farmers significantly affect farmers' decisions to buy agricultural insurance,however,the other six variables including cultivation time,stock level,cultivation investment,the accessibility of insurance,the attitudes toward insurance enterprises,compensate form insurance enterprises affect on farmers' purchasing decision in agricultural insurance weakly.This paper proposes a series of measures such as raising farmers' cultural level and operating efficiency,increasing finance assistance which will lead to a further development of agricultural insurance.
