Abstract
Objective To explore the value of sonogram affirmed iterative reconstruction(Safire) technique in improving the image quality of chest CT.Methods The data of 58 patients with chest CT reconstructed by filtered back projection(FBP) and Safire technique were respectively analyzed. The mean CT value, noise, signal to noise ratio(SNR),contrast to noise ratio(CNR),image quality score and lesions detectability were compared between the two reconstructed methods. Results There were no differences between FBP and Safire in CT value, image quality score and lesions detectability.Compared with FBP,noise was decreased by 16-27% and SNR increased by 23-40% and 44% in CNR by Safire technique. Conclusion Under the same scan parameters,Safire technique can improve the image quality with the lower radiation dose in comparison with FBP.
