Abstract
Assembly planning is one of the key technologies for virtual manufacturing and design for assembly (DFA). Total structure of assembly planning is proposed. By introducing the concept of assembly freedom, arithmetic method of assembly feasibility analysis is presented. With the combination of assembly feasibility analysis and knowledge based method, the method of assembly planning for virtual manufacturing is presented.
