Abstract
Three typical soils in Wuling District of Changde City were collected.Six heavy metals Cd, Pb, Ni, As, Cu, Zn were respectively detected, and the pollution indexes of these heavy metals were analyzed and evaluated by single pollution index method and comprehensive pollution index method. The result showed that the pollution of red earth soil of Nanpinggang Village was the lightest, which only 10 percent was slightly polluted. The pollution of Cd was the most serious among six heavy metals in Wuling District. The pollution of Pb, As and Zn did not appear in three typical soils.
