Abstract
Porphyrin and its derivatives have special photosensitive, catalytic properties, which were widely applied in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry and various fields. The mechanism and characteristics of the UV-visible spectrum about porphyrins, metalloporphyrins and porphyrin molecule devices were studied. Some influencing factors for the UV-visible spectra of porphyrin and its derivatives were discussed in detail, and the substituent effect was particularly investigated. The study on the UV-visible spectrum of porphyrin and its derivatives have important significance on the selection of photosensitive material, development of new catalysts, trace metal analysis, and so on.
