On Civil Society and Social Work——Social work in China from the Civil Society Perspective

Looking back over the decades of reforming and open-ing-up.China has been converting into a pluralistic civil society from a highly political society.At the same time,government function starts to shift and civil society has gradually separated from political power and shown its enormous energy.The political pattern of strong government and weak society is changing.Under such a background,the social work,as the third department is changing silently.This research ex-pounds the correlation of civil society and social work in the course of this transition.This article touches on the microscopic inspection to social work in civil society firstly.Analyzes the relations among the social work,state’ s power and citizens in civil society.Civil society and social work inter-acts each other.Both sides influence and function on each other,they are mutually affects.The functions of social work toward civil society are as follow: social work offers help when citizens are in need of help or danger;social work helps the citizens to overcome their difficulties;social work help the citizens to develop well.The functions of civil society to social work include: civil society supervises the organizations of social work;civil society supervise and protects the social worker;civil society supports the social work financially.
