Abstract

On the basis of wheel/rail noise prediction model called STTIN,wheel/rail noise produced by high-speed train running on slab track is analyzed and predicted, and wheel/rail noise of the slab track is compared with that on the ballast track. It is shown that the rail radiates chiefly middle and high frequency noise, and that the wheel radiates chiefly high frequency noise, and that the slab radiates noise in a range of middle and low frequency. It makes clear that the contributions of the rail, the wheel and the slab are not identical to the total noise.Among them, the rail is the largest, and the wheel takes the second place, and the slab is the smallest respectively. Moreover, conclusions are drawn that noise of the ballastless track, compared with that of the ballast track,is more server. The noise of the ballastless track is about 6.2 dB higher than that of the ballast track for the receiver nearby the rail, and about 3.5 dB higher than that of ballast track for the receiver at the boundary alongside the railway.
