Abstract

The content of emodin and physcion in 13 Polygonum multiflorum samples, which from 10 different regions of Yunnan Province, was determined by TLC-SC method. The result showed the difference of the total amount of the tow components above mentioned in these samples is obvious.Emodin and physcion can be divided into free and bound forms. It indicated that the quality of the medicinal materials from Polygonum multiflorum in different regions is not similar.
