Abstract
The orthogonal tests for interface property between saturated coarse sand, dry coarse sand, saturated fine sand, dry fine sand and steel/concrete were conducted by using the modified and developed simple shear test system. The regressive analysis of experimental data showed that the initial stage of the relation curve between shear stress and shear displacement was in accordance with the hyperbolic model. The initial shear stiffness and interface shear strength of the dry sand interface were larger than those of saturated sand interface.Through the variance analysis,a conclusion is drawn that the situation(dry or saturated) of sand has more significant effect on the interface property than the soil type and interface base.
