Abstract

Objective To explore the echocardiographic characteristics of left heart morphology and diastolic function in patients with left ventricular diastolic heart failure(LVDHF).Methods Sixty patients with LVDHF(LVDHF group)and 30 healthy subjects(control group)were enrolled in this study.The left atrial diameter(LAD),left ventricular diameter(LVD),diastolic interventricular septum thickness(IVST),left ventricular posterior wall thickness(LVPWT) and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),early diastolic peak velocity of mitral valve(E),reverse blood flow velocity of pulmonary vein(Ar),blood flow velocity of color M mode(Vp),ratio of early and late dialostic velocity of mitral annular(Ea/Aa),E/Ea and ratio of ventricular systolic and dialostic peak velocity(S/D) were measured by echocardiography.Results Compared with control group,LAD,IVST,LVPWT,E/Ea and Ar in LVDHF group increased,Ea/Aa,Vp and S/D in LVDHF group decreased.There were significant differences between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Echocardiography can accurately determine left ventricular diastolic function.It is the best method in diagnosis of left ventricular diastolic heart failure in clinc.
