Abstract
The foaming agents and its classification were introduced in this paper. Thermal decomposition of foaming agent and thermal expansion type foaming agent applied in foaming adhesive were also discussed. Effect of the two foaming agents on foaming structural adhesive performance was particularly expounded. Due to the different foaming mechanism of the two foaming agents,different bubbles was formed after curing. The closed bubble formed when thermal expansion type foaming agent was used,so the relevant adhesive strength was improved after curing. The content of foaming agent in adhesive altered the density of the cured adhesive. The different strength with the different density may has important guiding function for bonding parts and application requirements.
