Abstract

Objective To compare the analgesic effects of remifentanil and fentanly during patient controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA) on postoperative pain and observe the side reactions in children. Methods Eighty children patiens (aged 5-12,ASAⅠ-Ⅱ),were divided randomly into tow groups,40 cases in each,In group R remifentanil were given at the dose of 0.024mg·kg~(-1),in group F fentanyl at 0.024 mg·kg~(-1),diluted with 0.9% normal saline to 100 ml with continuous infusion rate at 2 ml/h,PCA 0.5 ml,and lockout time 15 min.Continuous infusion was started immediately after the completion of the surgery.VAS and side reactions such as nausea, vomiting, itching were monitored at 2、4、8、12、24、48 h after operation and the ratio of total press times/effective press times (T/E) were observed also. Results The efficacy of analgesia were statistically significant better in group R than that in group F during 2、4、8、12 and 24 h after operation (P0.05).More press times of PCIA were in group R,whereas nausea and vomi- ting was higher and itching was prominent in group F (P0.05).Conclusion Remifentanil was an effec- tive and safe analgesic drug during PCIA for postoperative pain in children with few side effects.
