Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of conservative surgery plus sequent radiotherapy in treating cases with early breast cancer. Methods 36 patients with early breast cancer underwent conservative Surgery plus sequent radiotherapy was retrospectively analyzed in Hospital of Ningxia Medical College from Jan 1998 to Aug 2007. 36 early breast cancer patients had undergone quadrantectomy and axillary nodes dissection, and then received radical radiotherapy of the whole breast. Results The 3-year and 5-year overall survival rates of the 36 early breast cancer patients were respectively 100% and 89.9%. 36 patients had no local recurrence. Conclusion Breast-conserving surgery plus sequent radiotherapy on treating early breast cancer could get satisfactory therapeutic effect. Life quality is improved and it should be a main way to treat early breast cancer.
