Review and Rethinking——A Summary of the Studies on Chinese Women's Emancipation after the Reform and Opening

With the risk of being re-marginalized of women's status after the Reform in China,many scholars have introspected about the ideology of gender equality and the related actions since the foundation of the Republic of China.Their conclusions focus on the following: First,they think that women's emancipation was always related to China's social development.Secondly,the way of women's emancipation was male-centered and nationalism.Thirdly,women were objects of being liberated but not subjects.Fourthly,the studies paid more attention to the state power's influences on women rather than those of the family power.Last,these research were macro-narrative with strong elitism and without individual sights.
