Research progress on chemical constituent and pharmacological effect of Scutellaria baicalensis

Scutellaria baicalensis,a dried root of perennial herb Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi in labiatae,is commonly used Chinese medicine in clinic.It contains chemical constituents like flavonoids compounds,volatile oil,and polysaccharides,etc.and it has pharmacological effects including anti-bacterium,anti-virus,anti-allergy,anti-pyresis,abirritation,anti-inflammation,and anti-tumor.Referred to relevant literatures on scutellaria baicalensis,this paper reviews its chemical constituent and pharmacological effect in order to provided a reference for in-depth research on the herb.
