Management Models of Western Metropolitan Areas and Their Enlightenment to Chinese Metropolitan Areas

Metropolitan area is a special urban spatial form at higher urbanization stage,basic spatial unit for international urban statistics and urban researches,and the leading trend of contemporary urbanization.Metropolitan area has developed for about a century in Western countries and its integrated management model has formed.This paper analyses and probes various management model of Metropolitan area in Western countries.Then according to Chinese urban development the authors put forward some countermeasures to further Metropolitan areas development in china.
