Abstract
Connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) and transform growth factor-β(TGF-β) are highly expressed in many fibrotic tissues and organs. It is thought that they are main cytokines promoting fibrogenesis. As the downstream effect media of TGF-β,CTGF mediates its role of promoting fibrosis, but it is not correlated with its role of anti-inflammation and regulation of immunity. For this reason CTGF maybe become a better target for anti-liver fibrosis.
