Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlative factors to influence the prognosis of exchange transfusion on neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. Methods Exchange transfusions were performed through the peripheral vessels on 68 newborns with severe hyperbilirubinemia.Cases were traced by regular visits. On the basis of the prognosis, cases were divided into abnormal group and control group, and compared the correlative factors between two groups. Results The blood bilirubin level remarkably droped after exchange transfusion (P0.01).Chasing those cases,7 losed following-up.Twenty-five of 61 cases presented with abnormal signs, and as to abnormal group, the others belong to control group.Comparing the age, weight, pregnancy, bilirubin level,B/A (bilirubin/albumin) ratio and BAEP,there were significant differece between two groups (P0.05).Conclusion Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia should be diagnosed and treated on early stage. The later were those treated, the higer bilirubin level would be,and the higher incidence of kernicterus sequelae would be.Compared with normal weight full-term infants,we found that preterm infants and low weight infants were more susceptible to the bilirubin toxicity. As to early assesses of the prognosis,B/A ratio and BAEP are better criteria.
