Grafting of radial bone flap with vascular pedicle for treatment of old scaphoid fracture

Objective To investigate the surgical procedures for treatment of old scaphoid fracture.Methods 6 patients with old scaphoid fracture were treated with vascularized bone grafting from the distal radius.Results All the 6 patients healed with bone union,restored normal wrist joint function function and had no pain during exercise.Conclusion This operative technique is simple.The vascularized radial bone graft can improve bone healing with a reduced healing time and increased healing rate.This surgical technique is an effective way to treat old scaphoid fracture.
