Abstract

Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of intervertebral injection of collagenase on the postoperative pain in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Methods A total of 54 patients with lumbar disc herniation were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 27 cases in each group. All patients received intervertebral injection of collagenase.Patients in the observation group underwent epidural block at 2 days post-surgery.The other therapeutic measures were the same between the observation group and control group.Postoperative pain in patients of two groups was observed. Results The degree of postoperative pain in observation group was lower than that in control group(P0.05).All 54 patients received regular follow-up or visits for 6-12 months,7.5 months on average. There were significant differences in the early curative effects between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Clinical indications should be closely observed, the combination of collagenase and epidural blocking can overcome its shortcomings and have complementary advantages, thus achieving a better efficacy.
